The Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards
To be considered for the Award, applicants must be:
In good academic standing.
Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
Students graduating from secondary (high) school or students completing their first year of CÉGEP or students who have completed secondary (high) school
Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated).
Planning to or are already studying towards their first university degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution, or entering their 2nd year of CÉGEP in the upcoming academic year.
Terry Fox Award Recipients are eligible to receive the Award until they graduate with their first university degree or diploma (for a maximum of four years), provided they maintain satisfactory academic standing and a standard of humanitarian work and personal conduct which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, justifies the award.
The maximum value of the award is $28,000, dispersed over four (4) years. A stipend of $7,000 is issued directly to the institution each year in two installments of $3,500, one in September and one in January.

SCHOLARSHIP - Lester B. Pearson Scholarship (Level 2)
funding for a student to attend Pearson College, a United World College in Victoria, BC, for 2 years. Students at UWC colleges complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.
This year the deadline to apply for the scholarship is Nov. 5th Students can apply by visiting the following website and completing the application form: https://www.pearsoncollege.ca/student-experience/admissions/. Students must apply through the UWC Canada link on this page.
Please note that students who apply for this scholarship are automatically considered for other scholarships offered by United World Colleges (UWC) as well as for other admission opportunities to UWC schools.

CNS Practical Nursing Program
The Center for Nursing Studies (CNS) is hosting a Practical Nursing Program (PNP) recruitment/information open house on Wednesday, October 29 and December 03, 2025 - From 7 – 8:15 PM at Southcott Hall, Miller Centre Room 103.
During the evening there will be a program information PowerPoint presentation followed by a tour of the school's facilities, an opportunity to check out some cool equipment and see if there might be interest in nursing school. Ending with an opportunity to meet faculty, staff and students.
Memorial University - Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing application will open October 16th at Memorial University! This is an exciting time for high school applicants to apply as we will have more seats available for high school applicants in the upcoming 2026 intake. Please share this news with your students who may be interested in a career in Nursing.
The Nursing degree is available at six sites across the province: The St. John’s campus, the Centre for Nursing Studies, the Western Regional School of Nursing in Corner Brook, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The same Memorial Nursing degree is offered at all of these locations.
For the 2026 intake, admission averages for high school applicants are based on courses completed up to grade 11. However, six courses are required to meet the high school pre-requisites (Biology 2201, Biology 3201, Chemistry 3202, Math 3200 or 3201, English 3201 & a grade 12 Social Science or Modern Language course). AARAO FAIR - October 28th, 2025
The Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AARAO) Post-Secondary Fair will take place at Carbonear Collegiate on October 28, 2025. Many Universities and Colleges from Atlantic Canada will be set up to share information and respond to questions from students. This is a great opportunity to learn more about their programs and campuses.
**To share your personal information (name, email, and interest areas) with attending institutes, please follow the directions to create a QR code for yourself. If you do not have data on your phone, you can save your code as a picture. This will make the process quicker on the day of the fair, as they can scan the personal QR code you create instead of having to get all your information each time you visit a booth.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY (University of Guelph)
These 9 scholarships are considered the University of Guelph's most prestigious undergraduate awards. Students with an outstanding academic record, who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities, who have demonstrated innovative and unique approaches to implementing change and/or bringing about improvements to life, and who demonstrate the greatest potential to be future leaders, are invited to apply.

The Office of Women and Gender Equality is celebrating with a one-time scholarship program for young women in grades 10-12, designed to support leadership development and or post-secondary goals.
The right to vote and hold public office is not just a privilege – it is a responsibility. It is a call to action. It is a reminder that democracy flourishes when all voices are included and when every individual has a seat at the table. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Epilepsy Newfoundland and Labrador (ENL)
Each year ENL offers four scholarships for students residing in Newfoundland and Labrador. Each of the following scholarships are valued at $1000. These scholarships are available to students who have been diagnosed with epilepsy, seizure disorder or who have a family member that has been diagnosed with epilepsy or seizure disorder. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Schulish Leader Scholarships
Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships. One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000* for science and math scholarships. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.
